Hand Fed Zebra Finch 22 days old

Posted by Filed Under Finch Bird Feeder with 16 Comments

22 days old now, I’ve been handfeeding him/her since day 7…….. It’s amazing to watch the transformation from a tiny hatchling to a fledgling. It’s Not imposible to hand raise a Zebra Finch, When I started feeding at day 7 I was using the flat end of a toothpick and here we are on day 22 he now eats from a 3 ml syringe. This has been a Very Rewarding Experience, we have a very close bond :)

How do i attract wild birds to my yard?

Posted by Filed Under Finch Bird Feeder with 1 Comment

What kind of feeder and seed should i use? I’m building a birdhouse next week to place out there too. In my yard right so far ive seen robins, mourning doves, chickadees and crows, etc with blue jays and cardinals during the winter. i also have goldfinches and hummingbirds during the summer but i’m going to wait to get them feeders because its starting to get cold and im sure they’ve already began to migrate south.
