Hand Fed Zebra Finch 22 days old
October 27, 2011 Finch Bird Feeder
22 days old now, I’ve been handfeeding him/her since day 7…….. It’s amazing to watch the transformation from a tiny hatchling to a fledgling. It’s Not imposible to hand raise a Zebra Finch, When I started feeding at day 7 I was using the flat end of a toothpick and here we are on day 22 he now eats from a 3 ml syringe. This has been a Very Rewarding Experience, we have a very close bond

It is great to feed the finches in the backyard. But imagine having one as a pet.

Btw, how do you know he’s “full”? Is it just by how much you measure? I see later on you knew he was hungry but wanted him to eat seed. You know how some animals will eat and eat and gorge themselves….I’m just curious if a bird will stop eating when full.
