What a nice day to be a little bird.

These little guys always make nests in my hanging flower baskets in the summertime. My mom calls their chicks “the hippie birds” because they have long ‘hair’ atop their scrawny little heads. XD
I feed them all summer, but haven’t seen them in winter. Apparently I need to do more research. Thanks for posting these cute little birds. Do the males change color in winter to look like sparrows?
It’s called a purple finch because of the Latin word “purpureus” which means ‘crimson’
